Social Responsibility and Values


15% of all sales donated to Nonprofits

As of March 2020, 15% of all sales are being donated to a rotating group of nonprofits that serve at-risk or marginalized populations. This is in addition to specific items that have an addition 15% donation to a fixed nonprofit organization (listed below).

Cumulative sales donations as of 3/30/21

  • $432 to the Good Shepherd Food Bank - The mission of Good Shepherd Food Bank is to eliminate hunger in Maine by improving access to nutritious food for people in need, building strong community partnerships, and mobilizing the public in the fight to end hunger.

  • $345 to CoFed - Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive is a QBPOC-led organization that partners with young folks of color from poor and working-class backgrounds to meet our communities' needs through food and land co-ops.

  • $306 to Preble Street - The mission of Preble Street is to provide accessible barrier-free services to empower people experiencing problems with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty, and to advocate for solutions to these problems.

  • $106 to LearningWorks -  LearningWorks reimagines learning through innovative programs that help children, adults, and families realize their potential and build thriving communities.

Product-specific donations

  • $242 to the Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples' Flicker Fund from sales of All That is Beautiful patterns and kits - The Flicker Fund provides direct grant support to stressed Indigenous communities on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, where some are already facing issues of hunger, lack of access to water, and unable to secure basic hygiene and material supplies needed for everyday life.

  • $150 to the Dolores Huerta Foundation from sales and publication fees for the Oxbow Shawl. DHF recruits, trains, organizes, and empowers grassroots leaders in low-income communities to attain social justice through systemic and structural transformation.  The residents of these communities are primarily Latinx, immigrants, and low-income.

Ms. Cleaver Creations, and I, Leah B. Thibault, as it’s sole proprietor, believe that everyone deserves a handmade life, which is one that is ethical, sustainable, and treats all people and our planet, with dignity and respect.

Ms. Cleaver Creations takes steps to reduce its environmental impact by limiting plastics where possible, and using reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable products, packaging, and shipping materials.
